Urban Punk Couture

dd_feb25.jpgWhat can you say about a dress made from recycled t-shirts? In a word – spectacular. The resourcefulness and creativity is enormously profound. The icing on the cake – it’s fantastically chic; and in this case, one-of-a-kind. Designer Angela Johnson makes eco sense sensible, constructing cotton couture that’s sassy, timeless, and hip. This Ball Gown made from thrift and vintage t-shirts is a little urban and a little rock and roll. It’s a conglomerate of pieces that were found at its edifice. The designs are like trees bearing untold stories and histories, with roots dating as far back as the dress can tell. You can find Angela Johnson’s designs in D.C. at Pink November and at the Angela Johnson Designs online store.
